What can CloneStone™ be applied over?
Most substrates, as long as condition is sound. Existing brick, weatherboard, fibro and besser block are ideal base surfaces.

What is CloneStone™ made from?
High spec polymers and resin. This is unlike most other simulated stones, which are generally constructed from concrete. As a result CloneStone™ tiles are much lighter in weight and can be adhered to substrates with high quality adhesives rather than rigid mortars.

How heavy is CloneStone™?
With an average of only 29kg per metre square, CloneStone™ is half the average weight of all cement-based cladding and a quarter the average weight of Australian sandstone cladding.

How thick is an individual CloneStone™ tile?
6mm to 8mm at edges, with the stone-face thickness ranging from 21-32mm for the flatter textures, then up to 21-55mm for rock-face texture (at the high points).

Is there a warranty?
Yes. CloneStone™ comes with a 20 year warranty when fixed in accordance to manufacturer’s written instructions and used on structures that conform to local council building regulations and codes.

What are the primary benefits of CloneStone™?
Completed jobs have the impressive finish of natural stone at a low cost. Experienced tradesmen, tilers, carpenters and bricklayers will have no difficulty fitting CloneStone™. There are no costly foundations to construct. There are no messy mortars to contend with. There is very little product wastage. It is also within the capabilities of DIY enthusiasts. This is something no wise man would attempt with the real thing!

How are CloneStone™ tiles cleaned?
With a soft bristled brush and water. Do not use any cleaning products, bleach, acid or chlorine-based products, or high powered water devices.

Do the tiles have to be sealed?
No. CloneStone™ tiles will be delivered to you pre-sealed. For optimum maintenance, the stone should be re-sealed once every 5 years. A breathable, water-based acrylic must be used. If using a sealant from another manufacturer, we recommend you first test the product on a small area of tile.

Do you also supply coping?
Yes. Your needs can be discussed with a representative on 0410 152 902.

Is grout necessary?
No. The use of grout is a choice. CloneStone™ can be applied with or without it. Non-grouted (or dry stacked) gives a more natural look to the surroundings. Grouting gives more of a structured look to the final result and is easily applied using either a grout bag or grout gun.

Are CloneStone™ tiles easily cut?
Yes, with a brick saw, diamond-tipped blade or masonry blade angle grinder.

What about installation?
CloneStone™ has a team of competent installers who can perform the task from start to finish, or we can assist builders and DIY enthusiasts.

Do CloneStone™ tiles absorb water?
Due to its unique mix of high quality resin and polymer materials, CloneStone™ is extremely weather resistant, absorbing only microscopic amounts of water over extended periods of time.

Is the application of CloneStone™ tiles restricted to outdoors?
Not at all. CloneStone™ has become very popular for indoor projects such as water features. The natural look and feel of CloneStone™ will add character, charm and elegance to any indoor area.
